This Victorian jacket dating to the 1880s features an all-over bohemian floral motif. Fisheye darts give it a body-conforming fit, although this would look stunning worn open over a soft blouse. Antique scalloped lace decorates the sleeve cuffs. Hand-finished seams on the inside of the jacket show the history of the garment and the attention to detail from the original seamstress. A special detail is the faint ink signature hidden in the lining of the piece—likely the name of the original owner, used to identify the piece when it was sent away for laundry.
This jacket is made from a printed wool blend with a linen interior lining. It is in delicate, antique condition with three missing buttons. It has considerable moth damage, with holes ranging from pinhole to nickel size throughout. Photos are representative of damage. The interior lining is shredding at the collar as shown in pictures. Most holes are not very visible when worn because of interior lining. Gentle wear is recommended. Would also make an excellent decor piece.
This piece fits as a size small. See measurements for fit details, keeping in mind that because of its antique condition this piece has no stretch.
